John Alschuler Executive Chairman, Therme Group US
Executive Chairman, Therme Group US
John Alschuler is the Executive Chairman of Therme Group US, a company devoted to the creation of large scale, accessible, wellbeing facilities across North America. Since 1973, John has worked with cities, civic organisations, and developers to solve complex urban development challenges and create financing strategies for distinctive places like the High Line, the Anacostia Waterfront, Daniel Island, D.C.’s City Center, Rice University Innovation District, Santa Monica Promenade, and 3CDC’s Urban Development Strategy in Cincinnati, among other locations. In 1984 John founded HR&A Advisors, a national real estate and economic development consultancy, spending the last 38 years as Chairman of the Board. In 2009, John was elected Board Chair of Friends of the High Line. John serves on the boards of SL Green Realty Corporation, Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center, Macerich, and Xenia Hotels & Resorts. John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and a Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.

Robert Hammond President and Chief Strategy Officer, Therme Group US
President and Chief Strategy Officer, Therme Group US
As President and Chief Strategy Officer, Robert Hammond leads Therme Group US’s product, programming, and strategic development. A pioneering urbanist and placemaker, Robert served for over two decades as Co-Founder and Executive Director of the High Line, where he led the transformation of an abandoned elevated railway line in Manhattan into an iconic urban park. Prior to launching the High Line, Robert supported the creation of online businesses in the public health and travel commerce industries and served as an ex-officio member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Board of Trustees, as well as Liberty Expedia, a formerly publicly traded travel company. . He has been awarded the Vincent Scully Prize, the Rome Prize by the American Academy in Rome, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Jane Jacobs Medal, along with Joshua David. A graduate of Princeton University and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from The New School, Robert is also a Vedic meditation teacher.

Adam Bamba Tanaka Chief Operating Officer, Therme Group US
Chief Operating Officer, Therme Group US
Adam Tanaka is Chief Operating Officer for Therme Group US, coordinating strategic planning, business operations, and pre-development for Therme Group’s U.S. market entry. Prior to joining Therme Group, Adam worked at HR&A Advisors, advising on major planning and development projects for clients including city governments, universities, and technology companies. In addition to his professional engagement with Therme, Adam is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP), where he teaches courses on public-private partnerships and urban innovation. Adam, who has published articles in The Boston Globe, CityLab, Crain’s New York Business, and other publications, received his PhD in Urban Planning from Harvard University, where his research focused on affordable housing in New York City.

Omar Toro-Vaca Chief Development Officer, Therme Group US
Chief Development Officer, Therme Group US
Omar Toro-Vaca is Chief Development Officer for Therme Group US, leading community integration and placemaking for the company as it expands throughout the United States. A trained architect, Omar has worked at the intersection of design and politics for several decades. Before joining Therme, Omar served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate at Kasirer LLC, leading government and community relations for complex projects that will shape the future of New York City, including the LGBTQ+ Museum at the New-York Historical Society and the revitalization of Central Park’s Delacorte Theater. Prior to Kasirer, Omar served as Associate Principal at SHoP Architects, where he led architectural development and master planning for major domestic and international projects including the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Building Operations and a 2.5-million square-foot, mixed-use development in Tijuana, Mexico. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute, where he subsequently taught interior design, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbia University.

Director of Finance & Operations
Cipriana Cuevas is the Director of Finance & Operations for Therme Group US, managing the firm’s accounting, finance, and administrative functions. Cipriana has been working in accounting and finance for a decade, working as a Controller in the New York hotel industry with brands such as Marriott, citizenM, Hilton, and Loews. Cipriana has also worked with international brands expanding to the United States. She was Finance Manager and part of the launch team for the Tipico sports betting app in New Jersey and Controller with citizenM as it opened its Bowery location and developed hotels across the US.
Maggie Daher Executive Assistant to Robert Hammond
Executive Assistant to Robert Hammond
Maggie Daher is the Executive Assistant to Robert Hammond and provides logistical and administrative support to the team. Prior to joining Therme Group US, Maggie worked for two startups in the health and fitness sectors. She also spent three years supporting a team of commercial real estate appraisers. She holds a BA in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University.
Priyanka Sheth Design and Development Coordinator, Therme Group US
Design and Development Coordinator, Therme Group US
Priyanka Sheth is the Design and Development Coordinator at Therme Group US and is a part of the team's ongoing efforts to identify sites for future Therme facilities and the various phases of project development in the US. She previously worked as an Architectural Designer at DXA Studio and Beyer Blinder Belle in New York and as an Urban Designer at Sasaki in Boston on a variety of urban design, historic preservation and landscape design projects. Her research interests are at the intersection of historic infrastructure, design and water systems which led to a research project focused on historic subterranean water structures known as stepwells in India, where she was the lead researcher. She has also curated related exhibitions in India as well as at the Yale Architecture Gallery and the Cooper Union and co-authored the book Stepwells of Ahmedabad: Water, Gender, Heritage published by Calmo editions in Madrid in 2020. She has a Master of Architecture from Yale University, a Bachelor of Architecture from CEPT University, India and is a Registered Architect in India.

Grace Pandola is the Manager of Marketing and Communications for Therme Group US, managing and shaping the early-stage US marketing and communications programs.
