Bucharest, May 21, 2026 — Therme Group has joined the inaugural edition of Bucharest Design Festival (BDF) as a presenting partner of BDF Highlights: Branding Romania Through Creativity and a partner of BDF Professional International Projects. The festival, organized by THE INSTITUTE Foundation under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, runs May 20 to June 21, 2026 across more than 150 locations in the city.

Therme's participation reflects a guiding belief at the company: that culture, art, and design are integral to the wellbeing of cities and the people who live in them. Therme's resorts are built around this idea, integrating architecture, water, nature, and contemporary art into spaces designed for human connection. Supporting BDF extends that conviction into the public realm of Bucharest itself.

Speaking on behalf of Therme Group at the festival's opening ceremony, Ramona Chiriac, VP of Global Impact, said:

"At Therme, we believe wellbeing means culture, beauty, nature, and spaces that create emotion, belonging, and human connection."

BDF Highlights: Branding Romania Through Creativity, presented by Therme Bucharest and AQUA Carpatica, opened May 20 at the Cotroceni National Museum (Salonul Cerchez) and is on view through June 21. The exhibition brings together internationally recognized Romanian creators across architecture, interior, product, graphic, and fashion design, including ADNBA, Ancuța Sarca, Corvin Cristian Studio, Dan and Lia Perjovschi, Fabrik, Meze Audio, Mircea Cantor, Murmur, and Zeppelin Design. Exhibition design is by Attila Kim Architects.

BDF Professional International Projects opens June 5 at Mincu Gallery, on the campus of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism, and runs through June 21. The program gathers ten exhibitions presented by embassies and international cultural institutions, including Sweden, Italy, Poland, Denmark, Spain (with Instituto Cervantes), Hungary (Liszt), Czech Republic, Slovenia, and MINI, bringing global design dialogue to Bucharest.

"Design becomes a form of collective identity, the way a country tells the world who it is."

Ramona Chiriac, VP of Global Impact
