From 2021, the Manchester Marathon will become the Therme Manchester Marathon, thanks to a partnership between Therme Group and Human Race, owners of the Manchester Marathon.
This new partnership was born from Therme and Human Race’s shared commitment to promote healthy active lifestyles and to help create connected sustainable cities.
The Therme Manchester Marathon will take place on Sunday 10 October with an incredible 32,000 runners covering a 26.2-mile route which, for the first time, will incorporate Manchester city centre. Famous for its fast, flat and friendly route, the marathon welcomes runners of all abilities from some of the world’s greatest elite runners, to those who thought completing a marathon would never be possible.
After an extremely challenging 18 months for all, the Therme Manchester Marathon will be a celebration of humanity on the national and global stage, helping to further grow Manchester’s image as a wellbeing-focused city of the future.
Stelian Iacob, COO and senior vice-president of the Therme Group commented:
“Therme Group’s vision is that physical and mental wellbeing should be accessible to all. By partnering with the Manchester Marathon – an event that shares our values of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle – we are demonstrating our commitment to becoming part of the vibrant community spirit that Manchester embodies as a city.”
Nick Rusling, CEO of Human Race said:
“We are delighted to have Therme Group come on board as the Title Partner of the Manchester Marathon for 2021, the first year in a longstanding partnership. Both the Manchester Marathon and Therme Group have ambitious strategies in Greater Manchester, to not only improve wellbeing in the city but to establish platforms to demonstrate what a truly unique and spectacular city Manchester is. We look forward to working together to deliver Europe’s 4thlargest marathon in this wonderful city.”
