Green Building & Sustainability

Having a green building recognized by LEED Certification is a dramatic and public way of demonstrating our strong commitment to green practices and improving the environment.

Outdoor & Landscaping

With projects like the largest urban beach in Europe, “Sands of Therme”, we try to bring an innovative way of thinking into anything we do and furthermore develop areas in which our guests can relax and enjoy themselves. Outdoor design and landscaping are no exception.

Indoor Tropical Gardens & Palms

Therme Group™ designs and builds spaces where each step is an invitation to discover natural wonders and palm trees from distant corners of the world.

A great example of this is Therme Bucuresti, the largest entertainment and relaxation center in Europe, built on a greenfield site, hosting the most diverse botanical garden in Romania. Its interior is home to the largest palm tree forest in Europe.

IT & Access control systems

  • One of the world’s most advanced access control system capable – 150,000 data sheet exchanges/day
  • Largest and most secure DELL Servers and Networking Architecture
  • RFID personalised system of management for the visitors
  • BMS for all parameters – complete automatisation of the construction
  • An access control system able to monitor 15,000 simultaneous guests assuming complex tasks, cashless transactions

Structural Engineering

Record-setting achievements in engineering:

Energy

We aim to recreate the basic chemical elements of life for rebalancing health. But this should come at no cost to the environment. That is why we invest a lot in energy-efficiency, using geo-thermal heating as a staple of engineering, throughout our facilities.

Climate & Heating

We imagine and develop perfect indoor ecosystems:

  • 365 days of constant climate conditions
  • Cleanest air at a constant temperature of 29 degrees Celsius
  • Purest ozonated water at constant 30 degrees Celsius
  • Natural palm trees, constantly monitored
  • Optimal controlled humidity at 50%
  • Solar protection – no UV exposure

Water & Air Treatment

  • Technology to sustain life through water and air management systems
  • Best water treatment system – ozonated water, no chloramin
  • Best air transfer system, purest air, constant flow 0,5m/sec, facade washing
  • Automated monitoring system for palm trees and plants

Frieze Partnership

5 October, 2017

Therme Art Program: Launch Event at the Frieze Academy Art & Architecture Conference 2017.

The program wishes to grant artists full access to the Therme Group’s esteemed facilities
and thus enable the creation of a significant and long-lasting cultural heritage, as thermae have been doing since Roman times. Historically, Roman baths were accessible, social and egalitarian settings. Drawing on this tradition, the Therme Group’s new projects will allow artworks to reach a diverse public outside the familiar white walls of the museum or gallery.

Artworks are becoming ever more dynamic and outgrowing their institutional frames. The Therme Art Program addresses these innovations by supporting, realizing and maintaining complex, long-term art projects. The initiative aims to challenge the limitations of conventional art space, whether it be playing with the architectural elements of a space, creating entire ecosystems, immersive installations or designing sauna complexes that transform the visitors’ experience.

The first art projects will be realized as part of Therme Group’s ongoing investment plans in various cities throughout North America, Asia and Europe. Therme Art Program will work with internationally renowned artists, as well as emerging talents, to develop site-specific artistic projects that will redefine contemporary art viewing.

Artists submitting commissioned proposals for future Therme Group developments – as part of the Therme Art Program – include AES+F, Alicja Kwade, Claudia Comte, Egill Sæbjörnsson, Jeppe Hein, Jon Rafman, The Haas Brothers, Maurizio Cattelan & Pierpaolo Ferrari, Monica Bonvicini, Przemek Pyszczek, Sarah Ortmeyer and Tobias Dostal.

The Therme Art Program was launched during the Frieze Academy Art & Architecture Conference 2017, supported by Therme Group as its Associate Partner, with a presentation by Sarah Wilson, Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art, along with participating artists AES+F and Egill Sæbjörnsson.
